Max Dry #25310
The HTP Max Dry is the ultimate in an air
dryer/regulator. Perfect for the serious home
shop or in a body shop as a workstation dryer.
Forget those dryers which claim to get 99% of the
water out of the air - the problem is as the air
cools off down line in your air hose, the
humidity in the air condenses and turns into
moisture, creating headaches for you. The HTP Max
Dry eliminates the problem - here's how. . .
The HTP Max Dry is actually 3 filters in one -
the first stage is a self draining 5 micron
filter - this filters out all liquid water,
liquid oil , dust, dirt, rust, and pipe scale
down to 5 microns. Now, you're probably wondering
what a micron is - it's one millionth of a meter.
That means 5 microns is .0000002" - way
smaller than the human eye can see.
The second stage is a Coalescing Filter which
functions differently from standard particulate
filters. Air flows from inside to outside through
a coalescing media. Small aerosols come in
contact with the fibers in the media. These
aerosols unite with other aerosols caught in the
fibers. The aerosols continue to unite and emerge
as a droplet on the outside of the media. The
weight of the droplet allows gravity to drain it
away. This system filters all oil mist, water
mist, and submicronic particles down to .01
microns!
The third stage is what separates this dryer from
all the rest! Air enters this stage and passes
through a 70 micron filter. This filter evenly
disperses the air through the desiccant bed. The
desiccant removes the HUMIDITY from the air to a
temperature of -3ƒ F. This eliminates the
possibility of any moisture condensing in your
air lines and being pumped through your plasma
cutter, sander, air ratchet, grinder, or spray
gun.
Best of all, the desiccant is reusable. When the
desiccant is dry and ready to absorb moisture, it
is a dark blue in color. After the desiccant has
absorbed all the water vapor it can, it turns to
an orangish clear color. Simply pour the
desiccant into a baking pan, pop it in the oven
at 325ƒ, and bake for approximately 1 hour. It
will turn back to blue to provide you with clean

We've looked a long time for an air drier that
would solve moisture problems for plasma cutters.
A high quality drier. One that would be
affordable - and we finally found one! I've used
this drier on all kinds of applications -
painting, sanding, air tools, and of course
plasma cutting, and have found it to work great!
The secret is the desiccant - it will actually
absorb the humidity from the air, guaranteeing
that no moisture gets past it. Additionally, a
sintered bronze element removes all dust and dirt
particles down to 5 microns! Best of all, the
filter changes from a dark blue color when it's
new, to a clear when the desiccant has absorbed
all the moisture it can. It's easy to tell when
to replace the filter.
